How you can legally obtain a title for your vehicle

If you have a vehicle that has not been legally transferred to your name by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicle office then we can help guide you to the right direction. When conducting a title transfer you must have the ORIGINAL paper title for your vehicle which will be surrendered to your local tax office. If you do not have an original title for your vehicle then you must apply for a title under your name and we are here to help as well.

The State of Texas is aware that there are many buyers that have problems registering titles to their name and they have put a solution to help buyers legally obtain a title and registration under their name. The state does require any proof you may have from the proof of purchase which can be, but not limited to, a bill of sale, title, picture of the title, etc. Once you have your proof gathered you will have to apply with the Texas DMV for a bonded title and the fee will be $15. Once applying you will be informed if you are eligible for a bonded title. The price for a bonded title may vary as it all depends on the value of the vehicle and the purchase price. Is it guaranteed I can get a title?

If your vehicle is registered as JUNK or EXPORT with the State of Texas you will not be able to title your vehicle anymore. If there is a lien within the last 10 years you will need to get a release of lien from the lien holder or the bond will not be issued

CAN SPEEDY SERVICES DO THE WHOLE PROCESS FOR ME AND JUST GIVE ME THE METAL PLATES?

Yes and No. We can do the full service for you if you are a resident of Hidalgo or Cameron county. We have licenes with the county to process paperwork on behalf of the client. IF you are from another county located in Texas we can only apply for the bonded title with the State of Texas, prepare all the documents, and mail them to you so you can present the paperwork at your county and get it done. We make the process as easy at it can be.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?

We take 10-15 business days if we are going to process the metal plates for you. If we are mailing you the documents we will have it all ready in 7 business days and will mail out with a tracking number. Bonds are issued instantly.
CAN YOU HELP ME IF I DON’T LIVE IN TEXAS?

Unfortunately we don’t assist other states with title services. We are up to date with Texas auto title regulations and requirements. If you live in Texas but are out of state we can help you as long as you are a Texas resident.

WILL THE TITLE BE A CLEAN TITLE?

If your title was originally a clean title then it will stay a clean title. A “Bonded Title” remark will be added to the title but that does not make it have any less value than a “regular” title. If your vehicle is salvage then you will be getting a rebuilt title which is no longer a clean title and can never be clean title again.
WILL YOU GIVE ME THE TITLE AND METAL PLATES?

If you are from Hidalgo or Cameron county we will give you the metal plates and registration to your name in our office. The title is mailed to your address by the State in 3-4 weeks. If you are from another county in Texas then we will mail your the proper documentation and you will take that to your local tax office. The address listed on al your paperwork is where your title will be mailed to.
WHY DID A LIEN COME OUT IF MY CAR IS PAID OFF?

The state of Texas checks 10 years back from the date one applies for a bonded title. If WITHIN those 10 years there was ever a lien on one of those titles, the state will list that there was a lien within the last 10 years. It can be complicated to find a bonding company to issue a bond with a lien but it’s not impossible.
